Built For The Trenches Academy (B4TA) is New York City's 1st grassroots football skills development program that combines mentorship and leadership training into curriculum, aiming to provide our players an opportunity to develop core skill sets necessary for optimal performance on the field, and in life off of the field. Our goal is to bring more awareness to NYC football, by providing an holistic approach to skills development and a community-backed platform to showcase our student-athlete talents NATIONWIDE.

B4TA was founded in 2020 by Tyrell Escoffery, former NYC ‘06 All City Line Backer from Brooklyn Technical High School. B4TA formed from the belief that there is an abundance of talent and interest in the sport of football in NYC, but limited resources that offer the structural grounds to foster growth, both physically and mentally for young men growing up in the city on a continual basis. While our coaches in NYC put forth great efforts during formal pre-season and in season activities to nurture talent, too many of our players are limited to the season calendar schedules for their respective teams. B4TA has set out to change that narrative !

Our football skills development off-season programs focus on mastery of on-field skill sets, with emphasis on position fundamentals, speed and agility, in-game scenario, and competition. As a complement to the on-field skills development, our mentorship and leadership training program provides players a training ground to develop intangible skill sets necessary in life. Workshops are fun and engaging, with programs focused on instilling confidence and an emphasis on effective communication and collaboration.

Our team at B4TA are highly motivated by the opportunity to provide the abundance of untapped talent in our city exposure to opportunities that they are equally deserving of, both on and off of the playing field.
